How Kandee Johnson makes her videos!

Is anyone else curious about how Kandee Johnson films her videos?  Then check out this blog and video!  I loved it.  I want to start doing make-up videos soon. :)

Hot pink eyes?

Hot pink lips is more what I'm used, but in recent years Urban Decay and a lot of other make-up brands have introduced some gorgeous hot pink eyeshadows. I always like to use a hot pink eyeshadow with a lot of black eyeliner. Hot pink is just not a color that is going to be a naturally flattering look (on pretty much anyone) without plenty of eyeliner and mascara.

Neutral Makeup + Instagram = FUN

I just love instagram filters for adding some color to a super neutral make-up look!  As you can see with  the photo above this a straight forward make-up look with creams and browns around the eye and pink lips looks a lot different with a little help from instagram.

Eyes: Urban Decay Skull Shadow Box 9 eyeshadow Palette (Shattered all over eye lid and a little Oil Slick in crease), Urban Decay Naked Palette (Sin all over browbone)
Lips: MAC limited edition veronica lipstick in Daddy's Little Girl

This was a look for my friend's wedding.  It was fun to add a little color and depth with the pretty blue Shattered and super black Oil Slick eye shadows.  And I love this MAC lipstick whenever I can get away with it.  The color is bit tricky since it's purple and doesn't go with just any outfit.

Urban Decay's Smoked Eye Palette

This look was created using Urban Decay's Smoked Eye Palette.  I used Kinky all over from the crease to the brow and then I used Mushroom all over the lid.  Then I used a little bit of Rockstar in the crease and outer corner.  (This photo has been instagramed, but you can see how you can get a nice smokey look from this palette.  I love it).  Have you used Urban Decay's Smoked Eye Palette?  What did you think?  Any favorite looks?

Benefit's They're Real! Mascara

I got a sample of this mascara for my birthday from Sephora (if you haven't signed up for Sephora's rewards card--do it... you get free treats for your birthday).  And this mascara is pretty amazing.  It claims to lengthen, curl, volumize, lift and separate... and it really does it.  It gives you nice dark black lashes with some volume (without clumping) and I really appreciate a little boost in the length!

What is your go-to mascara?  Have you tried Benefit's They're Real! mascara?

MAC Archie's Girls Lipsticks

MAC released it's latest limited edition collection Archie's Girls on my birthday February 7.  I decided the perfect way to celebrate was with my two favorite lipsticks from the collection.

Veronica's Daddy's Little Girl
Betty's Betty Bright

Veronica's Daddy's Little Girl lipstick is an absolutely gorgeous midtone pink violet.  It's even more wearable than I anticipated.  I love it!

Betty's Betty Bright lipstick is a super fun and super bright lipstick.  It is a light vibrant peach.  I do like this lipstick, but I didn't love how it photographed.  It would be easier to pull off this shade anywhere though and I think it will be fabulous for Spring.
